Oriental trading- diy halloween door banner and product review

Hi all, are you ready for halloween?! There is still plenty of time to get your craft on! These yummy craft goodies below i was given to by oriental trading to review and i made a fun diy banner to show you what i made with it all. ( warning --many pictures ahead... Lol!)
So here is a list of the goodies i got and my review:

Halloween stickles- 8 in the pack!!
Love them and super price
Black duck tape- great quality and stuck well
Ghost string lights - super cute gauzy ghosts i wouldn't recommend using them outside because i think they would not look as nice wet but i used them for a inner door so they are perfect for my project
Black chalk board paint- great paint , nice and thick! I can't wait to use it for more future projects
Modge podge-   Great stick and easy to pour and paint with ( i love this stuff)
Canvas door banner- thin canvas would have been too flimsy without the duct tape.
Large diecut tree -super cute! Made of nice and thick paper
Boo party napkins-  thick napkins - i actually got two boo's from one napkin and i still have a bunch left for halloween night snacks
Halloween paper pack -  alot of papers! 5o pieces!nice and a great weight not thin. Great value - down side is that it is single- sided but it worked fab for my project.

Work in progress : i layed out long pieces of wax paper on the table do my canvas banner wouldn't stick then i spread my canvas banner out- this is a large banner not super thick but when i modge podged the paper onto it , it became more sturdy. So i painted with foam brushes the modge podge onto the backs of my papers then adhered them to the banner. The halloween papers are so nice made of thick paper one-sided with 2 of each design and a ton of other patterns ( a great deal)
Then i took the black chalk paint and did a light layer of it onto the huge tree diecut to give it a creepy look. A second coat would have made it a solid black but i liked the look of just one coat.

Next i modge podged the tree right on top of the pattern paper. The i grabbed those cute boo napkins and took the napkin layers apart leaving me with a single ply. I then used the piece to modge podge right onto the pattern paper.

Then with the diecut leaves i brushed on some   black chalk paint, crumbled them and glued them on to go with my distressed spooky look. After that i decided i wanted the banner more distressed so i rubbed the paper in spots to the white core and then brushed it with the black paint.

Next, i took the black duck tape and trimmed the whole banner with it to give it a border and to make it sturdier. Lastly, i took the string ghosts lights and poked holes thru where i wanted to ghosts and pushed them thru to the front of the banner. Then on the back i used the duck tape to cover the wires and hold the battery pack. Finally i took the stickles ( glitter glue) and added touches of sparkle to the ghosts and leaves. The stickles are uber glittery while they do take time to dry they are well worth the wait. ( everything is better with glitter. Right?! )

The ghost lights are super cute and change colors when they are on. pic of them lit up below.

**disclosure* I was given these products for review.
