Oriental trading makes summer fun!!!

Hi all:) As most of you know i am a stay at home momma . I craft by night and play with my kids by day. So, today i am stopping by to share some of my most fav summer fun items from oriental trading. In case you are not familiar with oriental trading they are the go to website for all things for party, holiday, craft supplies and one of my favorites summer fun supplies.  For summer, i love getting and keeping on hand outside toys for the kids and their friends to play with (We need to keep these lil ones busy during the summer to keep our sanity ..right?! Lol! )

Club scrap june boardwalk blog hop

Hi all, welcome to the club scrap boardwalk bloghop!  i am stopping by today to share a page and shaker pocket i made using the club scrap june boardwalk collection and stamps. To make the shaker page i cut down a ripped page protector i had added in a strip of cardstock and patterned paper and sprinkled in a couple bathing suit charms from the kit along with sequins from my stash. Lastly i took tapes from my stash to seal the open side of the page protector. Next i worked on the 12x12 page. For my page i started put with putting some stitching onto a couple pieces of cardstock then i stamped my favorite words and images from the stamp sets onto cardstock with gold ink. I then cut out my fav cutaparts and words and set aside. Then i layered my patterned papers added all my lil bits i cut apart and embellished with wood veneers, twine, and wooden buttons which by the way i am in love with. Oh and a lil bit of washi and sequins from my stash to match the shaker pocket page too. Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!

Oh! the other day i realized i had no patriotic decorations up so i made a door medallion for my front door with the rest of my bits and papers left from the boardwalk kit.  To make it is easy peasy. 

Just cut a large circle from a piece of 12x12 paper to use as a base to glue on to then i cut 5 strips of 6 x12 pieces and glued them together into a long strip. Next, i fan folded the whole strip ( you can score at about every half inch to make folds crisper but sometimes i like to rough it without tools and just wing it... Lol! Then, glue ends together and it will form a circle .Put glue on the base circle and place fan folded circle on top adjusting it as needed. Let glue dry.   Lastly, i layer and embellish the middle and punch two holes on the top to loop thru my ribbon on top to hang it.

Ok so after looking at it all day on my door , i decided i needed a "welcome" on it , so i found these cute lil ivory letters to spell welcome on the bottom corner. (now i it feels complete) lol!

Page i made using the tombow carnationand peacock blue markers

Hi all, it is beautiful here today so  i am stopping by this morning to share a page i made before i get outside to play with the kids. Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather as well!  If you saw my post yesterday then you know i made some cool backgrounds that i gessoed and stenciled then scribbled on tombow carnation and peacock blue and misted and smudged the ink til i liked it and let it dry. Then last night i turned it into the background and butterflies to add to the 8/12 x11 inch page of my girls.  Oh and i handlettered a title too😳😄if you have ever seen my real handwriting you would know that this is really good for me! Lol! Since the paper warped a bit i added it to  black cardstock and then added some black touches and dots and ink to bring it all together. I had so much fun making this!!! Club scrap june artist team challenge

Hi all, today i am stopping by to share with you a page i made for the club scrap team challenge. For this month's challenge we were ask to make projects using the hypno collection. I just love the turquiosey ( i know that is not a real word but it is my color word.. Lol)  green color swirled into this vintagey vibe paper collection. And i had this picture of my then 5 now 6 yr old posing for a pic for me that i looove of her! So i had to scrap it! Soni took all my fav parts of the other hypno papers and fussy cut and trimmed out my favorite parts to layer around the page. Also cause right now i am totally into my new sewing machine i stiched on the swirl for texture and added my diy flair for more interest. Everything i used was club scrap except for the enamel dots. All the white cutaparts/stickers and bright burgundy cardstock are from the clubscrap boardwalk collection as well.   Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!

Club scrap technique challenge to use handmade embellishments

Hi all, I am stopping by today to share a page with you that i made for the club scrap challenge that tina is hosting this month. http://clubscrap.com/0616-technique-challenge/

For this challenge we are to mAke a handmade embellishment so i made a paper mache flower using modge podge, water and scraps of paper . I dipped the paper in the glue water crumbled it up and squished and pushed it into the silicone mold.  For the best results use a deep mold and push the wet paper into every edge to get the best shape. I then let it dry overnight and rubbed gold gelato onto it for color. See pics below- 

Then i wrapped that awesome ribbon from the kit around my finger to make a ribbon nest and glued it onto paper and added my paper mache flower to the center with a paper dot to finish it. Lastly i layered and embellished the rest of my page using  all the awesome goodies from the june kit. ( alphas are from my stash)

Page i made for the stuck?! June sketch challenge

Hi all, are you loving the start of summer weather?! It finally warmed up here:) today i am stopping by to share a page i made using the june club scrap boardwalk kit and  stamps.   I had a ton of fun using this sketch and playing with the kit! So in my sewing frenzy the other day, i took a piece of the gorgeous blue and gold ribbon from the kit and sewed aribbon  circle onto white cardstock to be the starting point for my page ,then i trimmed off some of the edges of the white cardstock so that i could back it with the blue and gold stripped paper. Next,  i got to stamping some banners and swirly circles with gold onto red cardstock and cut them out to add to my layers. And layerin i did. I used cutaparts and strips of the solid and patterned papers. Then i added on the buttons, twine and wood veneer stars and tag.   Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!!
