Happy new year card

Hi all, stopping by to share a card i made for the club scrap bokeh challenge.  I love the inspiration! I was on the fence to what kind of background i wanted to make for my new years cards and then i saw this challenge. So i used my new gold and silver inks with a circle stencil and dabbed away. Now i think i am going to make the other new years cards i have to make the same to send to family and friends. Thanks for stopping by!       Jen t:)

Christmas card keeper and scrapbook page using the boaf december kit

Hi all, hope you had a great Christmas!! I am stopping by today to share a christmas card keeper . I don't know about you but i can't throw away the beautiful cards and picture cards I recieve each year. So,  i made this 6x9 booklet to hold the cards. Once i am ready to add the cards to it i will just hole punch them and restring the gold twine and tie the booklet together and keep it with my Christmas decorations so i can look at them each year.  Then while looking thru winter pictures from last yr i found one of my favorite pictures of my girls and just had to scrapbook it.

Trio of jumbo gift tags using and gift bag the december BOAF kit

Hi all, merry almost christmas!! Today i am sharing with you some tags and a gift bag i made. These is a great to use your kit for the holidays or scraps and bits you have left in your stash. The cut aparts in this kit were begging me to make them into pretty tags. Here are the three i used and i embellished them with stickers , ribbon and sequins from the kit.

Then , i needed teacher and bus driver presents and i got them all bags of giradelli candies- so to dress them up i pieced together two 4 x12 strips together and folded it around the bag i added a removeable glue dot inside to keep it from loosing from the wrap. Then i punched two little holes at the top to put the tag , wood veneer and twine thru.  I am having so much fun with this kit!

Give an old diy a facelift and a card using the BOAF dec kit

Hi all, oh my gosh i can't believe Christmas is only 9 days away!  Here is a countdown i made back in 2008 ( pic below is what it looked like last week before it's makeover)  it is made from two mini muffin tins and cardboard on the back with magnets covering the holes. So i took the new december kit and gave it a facelift. It was so fun to do! Have you ever made over an old diy?  Then while my mojo was flowing i whipped up a card using the beautiful papers, wood veneers and cardstock stickers.
Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!  Jen T.

Here is the link to how i made the old countdown calendar:

Boaf blog ho ho hop and challenge

Hi all! :)

Welcome to the Birds of a Feather Holiday Blog Hop! If you have been following the hop, you should have been directed here from Sarah's blog. If you are just stopping by for a visit and want to join the Blog Hop, just hop on over to the Birds of a Feather Kit Co. Blog http://birdsofafeatherkitco.blogspot.com
and start at the beginning. Then follow the links on each lady's blog, through to the end.

Now, if you do decide to Blog Hop with us, there are a couple fun prizes up for grabs. The BIG prize (this one will go to one lucky winner who visits each blog AND leaves a comment at each one) is a choice of Birds of a Feather kits! At each blog stop, you will find a challenge posted by the Scrap Chick. For each challenge that you complete, and share with us on our Blog, you will receive an additional entry into the free kit drawing, AND, your name will be entered into a separate drawing for a $20 gift certificate to the Birds of a Feather Kit Co. boutique.  The deadline for sharing your projects with us is next Saturday, December 19.

My challenge is a mixed media challenge-    ( a great way to use your ink from the oct kit) grab your inks, paint, gesso or texture paste and splash ,splatter , stencil or stamp. For some ideas check out my past technique post- Http://birdsofafeatherkitco.blogspot.com/2015/11/technique-tuesday-get-inky-jen-t.html?m=0
So,  use just a little or alot of mixed media in your project then share a page or card you made with us on the BOAF blog.

Here is a mixed media page i made using the November and October kit for my challenge. ( Enamel dots and ink used were from my stash ) I white gessoed some of the background behind the picture and then i got inky .I then layered the pattern papers together to make my base. Next,  I misted, splashed and ink droppered. Then i layered those gorgeous patterned papers to mat my photo, cut out some frames from another sheet of patterned paper then grabbed the washi sticker sheet and stickers and layered away.

Fall page and card using the boaf kit

Hi all, Today i am stopping by to share two more projects i made with the november kit. First i started with the orange side of the double- sided paper. Then i was in a artsy mood and gesso-ed, ink misted and watercolored a background then layered the halved cutaparts under my photos .Next,  i punched out some arrows from another paper and the word fall from another patterned paper. Lastly ,i added my title using the currogated alpha thickers and used the periods from the alpha sheet to add to my page with the ink splashes . ( oh lil pumpkin sticker is from my stash)

12x12 page

For the card i cut a 10x10 piece of the solid double sided paper and folded it in half then matted another square in the burnt orange. Next, i cut out a design from another pattern paper along with extra butterflies that i fussy cut out. I matted that paper and then popdotted the extra butterflies on top for dimemsion. Lastly,i punch out two swirls from the golden yellow pp and added them and stamped a sentiment to finish the card.

Get chalky! Technique tuesday

Hi all,
Happy technique tuesday! Today i wanted to share how i did my give thanks on my door sign. First i doodled ( you can also print out a saying off the internet) the saying i wanted on a piece of paper then i tweeked it and retraced it with marker so i could see my changes.

Next, i took a piece of regular chalk( i used my kids sidewalk chalk) on the reverse side and scribbled it to cover the whole area behind the words. Lastly, i flipped the paper over and placed it onto the chalkboard sign. Then just traced with a pen around my words . I lifted the paper up and then i was left with a faint outline of the sidewalk chalk.  To finish, i took the chalk marker and traced and filled in the letters.

This was such a fun project!

Boaf technique Tuesday_get inky

Hi all , jen t. here. Happy technique tuesday!  Are you lovin' the wood veneer in the October kit?!  And that mini ink?! I am! And i thought of some ways to get the most use out of them- First i used the ink pad to ink up the wood veneer really good( if it is a word make your your ink the right side) then press down firmly onto the paper and pull it straight up. Wahlaa! A stamped image and  now you can still use the wood veneer on another project.

Second, i took the same kind of wood veneer and washi to mask off the words so i could use part of the design .see pics below.

Then since i was already inky i got out my acrylic block and stamped the ink on it and used my water pen to watercolor my cloud diecuts for my layout.
