october club scrap literature blog hop

Hi all, welcome to the club scrap literature bloghop! If you are hopping along with us you are here from josette's blog if you get lost along the way there's a list of links at the bottom of this post below or if you can just  head back to club scrap's blog you'll be able to start from there to also. for this hop I made a 12 x 12 page using almost everything from the club scrap literature collection including stamps, patterned papers and cardstock. the red patterned papers layered on my page are stamps from the deluxe kit that I stamped on the red cardstock ahead of time. ( I am not sure if I shared this tip before but for scrapbooking it is my most favorite way to se stamps-- stamp out all your stamps onto different cardstocks from the kit and as you are creating just cut them out and add to your pages like you would a regular diecut.) for my base I started with the red cardstock then layered pieces or bits of the tan patterned papers onto each other around the photo. I had a embossed piece of red cardstock and star left over  the technique challenge page and decided to add them to my son's page. I then added the tan cutaprts from the kit and  added my son's name with letters from my stash on top.
lastly, I added the cute lil book charm to the thread I had hanging off my page from my sewing and a faux flair using a circle punch on the cutaparts and a enamel circle on top. I had a fun time distressing all the edges for more texture and was excited how the page came together. ( did ya notice that i love the kraft and red together?!--great color combo!)

I bent the faux fold in the paper and added dimensional dots to the back to make it look like a real book page

Jen, I love how you did the embossing with stars and then tied it all in with a larger star! Cute layout!

The way the stitching is, it looks to me like a book open in the middle. Fun layout!
